The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) reports that hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 68,037 deer during the opening weekend of the 2010 Illinois firearm deer season, Nov. 19-21. The seven-day firearm season will conclude on Dec. 2-5.
Illinois’ 2010 archery deer season results are in and it looks to be a pretty good harvest. Total deer taken during archery season this year in Illinois was 54,062 compared to 2009′s total of 64,864.
There were 27,269 bucks harvested comprising 50.4% versus 26,796 does at 49.6%.
